Getting started

First setup

Start by choosing your app language and glucose unit. Enter only what you need—you can change preferences later in settings.

  • Confirm your measurement unit before logging your first reading.
  • Set targets recommended by your clinician, if that feature is available to you.
  • Apple Health or Health Connect linking is optional and never enabled automatically.
Logging

Log a clear meal

Record meal time, components, and carbohydrates when you know them. You can add readings before and after the meal; time-linked readings help build clearer analysis.

  • Check the time before saving the entry.
  • Correct inaccurate entries instead of creating duplicates.
  • Meals without readings remain useful as a log, but may not enter some analyses.
Readings

Link glucose readings

Meal analytics depend on valid before-and-after readings. The app clearly shows insufficient data instead of inventing a result.

  • Use the same measurement unit consistently.
  • Review the reading source when importing from a health platform.
  • Do not use the app for emergency decisions or treatment changes.
Analytics

Understand insights and patterns

An insight describes what repeated in your logs over a defined period. Confidence reflects evidence quantity and consistency—not medical certainty or treatment advice.

  • Read the time window and record count beside each result.
  • A past response does not guarantee a similar future response.
  • Use results to prepare better questions for your clinician.
Food

Personal food intelligence

SugroLy shows how foods appeared in your logged history. It does not label food as good or bad, and does not use response results as a judgment of nutritional quality.

  • Portion, preparation, and timing can change the response.
  • Comparisons need sufficient repetition.
  • Nutrition information is estimated when you do not enter it precisely.
Reports

Reports and sharing

Reports summarize a period of your logs and can be used for personal review or to discuss questions with your care team.

  • Review report content before sharing it.
  • Reports may contain sensitive health information.
  • Send files through a secure channel and choose recipients carefully.
Data

Backup and export

You can create a copy of your data under your control. If you use optional encryption, keep your password in a safe place—the SugroLy team cannot recover it.

  • Do not store backups on shared devices without protection.
  • Test restore before relying on a single copy.
  • Deleting the app may remove local data depending on your device OS.
Trust

Privacy and permissions

SugroLy is local-first. Online food search, ads, or optional integrations may connect to external services as described in the privacy policy.

  • Review permissions from your device settings.
  • We do not sell your health logs to advertisers.
  • You can disable optional integrations whenever you choose.
